Filter or Block Incoming Calls with PBS Hivoox

Managing incoming calls efficiently is essential for businesses that want to stay organized, avoid unwanted calls, and control how calls are handled based on time or caller identity.

With the call filtering feature available on PBX services based on PBS Hivoox, you can define precise rules to accept, redirect, send to voicemail, or reject incoming calls according to your needs.

This feature is not enabled by default. You must request its activation by email. Once enabled, the call filtering option is completely free.

Accessing your phone line interface

To configure call filtering rules, access your PBX interface at the following address:

https://pbs.hivoox.com:8444/

Then follow these steps:

  • Click on IP CENTREX
  • Click on PHONE LINES
  • Select the desired SIP account (format: 8xxxxxxxxxxx)
  • Click on the CONFIGURE button

A new configuration window will open.

Accessing the call filtering section

In the configuration window:

  • Click again on IP CENTREX
  • On the left menu, click on CALL FILTERING
  • At the bottom left, click on ADD A NEW RULE

This section allows you to define detailed rules for incoming call handling.

Configuring a call filtering rule

When creating a new rule, you can configure the following parameters:

  • Enable Rule: Check this box to activate the rule.
  • Action: Choose what happens to calls affected by the rule. Options may include rejecting the call, sending it to voicemail, forwarding it to another number, or applying other predefined actions.
  • Time-based filter: Define when the rule applies. You can set specific operating hours or choose anytime to keep the rule active 24/7.
  • Time-based filter name: Assign a clear name to the rule to easily identify its purpose.

To configure specific hours or schedules, click on the clock-shaped icon located to the right of the filter name.

Typical use cases for call filtering

Call filtering rules are commonly used to:

  • Block unwanted or spam calls
  • Redirect calls outside business hours to voicemail
  • Forward priority calls to another phone number
  • Apply different call handling rules depending on time or caller

This flexibility allows businesses to adapt call behavior to operational needs without manual intervention.

The role of PBS Hivoox and Hivoox

Call filtering is a feature of PBX services based on PBS Hivoox, a professional virtual PBX powered by Portaswitch and used by all PBX vendors available on the Hivoox platform.

Hivoox acts as a professional marketplace. It does not operate the PBX directly but provides access to PBX services offered by independent sellers using the same PBX infrastructure.
